4 of The Best Chrome Extensions for SEO

As an SEO professional, digital marketer or business owner, it’s likely that you feel as though there are not enough hours in the day! Your time is precious and therefore it’s likely that you’re always on the hunt for ways to improve your productivity. So, what if I told you that you could increase your productivity and save hours each month without having to spend a dollar? You’re intrigued right? Well, keep reading, in this blog post I will discuss four of my favourite SEO chrome extensions that help save hours off my time.  Saving hours each month so that you can spend your time on other things, whether that’s clocking more client hours or working on your business.

1. Fenix SEO

In contrast to the next two extensions we discuss the Fenix SEO extension tool is packed full of a range of different features. Including: automatic metadata pull, bulk SERPs generator, bulk links display, automatic HTTP header status, JavaScript and CSS style quick disable function, H1 tags and ALT highlighting and quick page diagnosis against Google’s mobile friendliness, page speed, copyscape content duplication, AMP validation, XML sitemap and robots.txt detector. With all these features and glowing 4.6 star reviews, it’s safe to say that this tool is a MUST for SEO professionals.

2. Check my Links

The concept of this extension is simple. Rather than being a tool that has a range of different functions it only has one, which is to check the links on a webpage. The tool crawls the webpage that you are on and looks for any broken links. The tool then highlights all of the links on your webpage, showing which are valid and which are broken.

While this blog post outlines the use of this tool for SEO reasons, a range of other people can find this extension useful, including; business owners who can use the tool to make sure that all links on their website are working and their users have an excellent experience or web developers who can use this tool to notice any link errors they may have when developing a website.

3. Alt Text Testers

Download URL: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/alt-text-tester/koldhcllpbdfcdpfpbldbicbgddglodk

Again, another simple extension. This extension shows the ALT text of an image. Simply hover over the image and the extension shows the alt text for that image. In addition to this, the tool allows you to copy the ALT text by double clicking on the image. This is a great way to quickly check whether your images are SEO optimised, showing you the ALT text of every image on a page within seconds (or minutes – depending on how many images are on the web page!), a process that typically would have taken much longer.

Including: metadata pull, canonical information, image count, alt text information, link information, social shares, heading tag count and appearance and a range of external tools such as: Google’s Mobile Friendly Test, Google’s Page Speed Insights, Facebook DeBugger and Keyword Density with WMtips. With over 72,588 users, this tool is popular amongst digital marketers and SEO professionals.
